The Kick Off Classic is moving to a new date and new location.  We are very excited to be moving the Kick Off Classic to Knoxville Iowa on September 9 to the Knoxville Regional Livestock Market.

The 10th Annual Kick Off Classic was held on September 9th in Knoxville Iowa at the Knoxville Regional Livestock Market.

51 live animals averaged $2556 with individual averages as follows:  9 open heifers averaged $3017, 28 bred heifers averaged $2454, 13 bred cows averaged $2485, and 1 cow calf pairs averaged $2200. Embryo packages averaged $535 a package for 6 packages and semen from the Semen Tank Treasure Chest averaged $163 a package for 19 packages.

The top selling open heifer was Lot 6, RRA Rachel 144-770 selling for $5200.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich of Vinton Iowa.  She was born 1/17/2017.  Her sire is Jacobson Freedom 4056 and Dam is RRA Rachel 746 144. She was purchased by Hunter Harris of Alvord Texas.

The next top selling open heifer was Lot 10, RRA Miss Blackbird 510Y 732 selling for $4100.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich of Vinton Iowa.  She was born 1/2/2017.  Her sire is Six Mile Signature 295B  and Dam is WCR Miss Blackbird De 510Y. She was purchased by York Creek Red Angus, Grant Potadle of Herman, Nebraska.

The next top selling open heifer was Lot 8, Fosters Marie 7516 selling for $3800.  She was sold by Shepard Settlement Farm, Mike Foster of Marcellus New York.  She was born 1/4/2017.  Her sire is 5L Independence 560-298Y and Dam is Salsa Magnetrix 1516. She was purchased by Cory Miner of Postville, Iowa.

The top selling bred heifer was Lot 23 C-Bar-RJ Redbird 621D selling for $6700.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich, Vinton Iowa and Blairs Ag, Kevin Blair of Saskatchewan.  She was born 1/24/2016.  Her sire is 5L Independence 560-298Y and Dam RRA Blairs Blackbird 510Y 429. She is bred to Ridge Pragmatic 6098. She was purchased by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich of Vinton Iowa.

The next top selling bred heifer was Lot 33 RRA Copper Queen 388 6115 selling for $4200.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich, Vinton Iowa.  She was born 2/2/2016.  Her sire is LSF Forecast 2253Z  and Dam RRA Copperqueen 438 388. She is bred to Ridge Pragmatic 6098. She was purchased by Cress Red Angus, Eric Cress of Center Point, Iowa.

The next top selling bred heifer was Lot 32 TJC 19T’s Destiny 635D selling for $3400.  She was sold by Tim Johnson Cattle Company, Tim Johnson of Bellevue, Iowa.  She was born 2/4/2016.  Her sire is Trotters Stronghold 156 and Dam Red Fine Line Mulberry 19T. She is bred to H2R Profitbuilder B403. She was purchased by David Hemp of Middlebrook, Virginia.

The top selling bred cow was Lot 44 2RJL Rose ET B716  selling for $4100.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich, Vinton Iowa.  She was born 2/24/2014.  Her sire is Red Crowfoot Ole’s Oscar and Dam RRM Rose M236. She is bred to RRA Impact 505. She was purchased by Olsen Red Angus, Gary Olsen of Brayton Iowa.

The next top selling bred cow was Lot 47 RRA Melody 4002 440  selling for $3800.  She was sold by Rich Red Angus, Kurt Rich, Vinton Iowa.  She was born 1/22/2014.  Her sire is Red Crowfoot Moonshine 8081U and Dam UBAR Melody Prix 4002. She is bred to RRA Impact 505. She was purchased by Dave Runner of Gilman Iowa.

The top selling embryo lot was Lot 64 5L Independence 560-298Y, Foster’s Abgail 0537 selling for $800 for four.  They were sold by Shepard Settlement Farms, Mike Foster of Marcellus, New York.  They were purchased by Cory Miner of Postville Iowa

The top selling semen lot was Lot 65 Red Fine Line Mulberry 26P selling for $1600 for package of 8.  They were sold by Shepard Settlement Farms, Mike Foster of Marcellus, New York.  They were purchased by Ronnie Cannon of Stephenville Texas

High volume buyer was Brett Katzer of Conrad Iowa with the purchase of 6 lots. Cattle were sold into 9 states including Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, Texas, Virginia, Kansas.
