The 9th Annual Kick Off Classic was held on August 27th in Bloomfield Iowa at the Bloomfield Livestock Market.

55 live animals averaged $2829 with individual averages as follows:  9 open heifers averaged $2288, 35 bred heifers averaged $2971, 8 bred cows averaged $2913, and 3 cow calf pairs averaged $2567. Embryo packages averaged $1600 a package for 2 packages and semen packages averaged $750 a package for 2 packages.

The top selling open heifer was Lot 9, Foster’s Dory Jiba 684 selling for $3500.  She was sold by Shepard Settlement Farm, Mike Foster of Marcellus, New York.  She was born 1/15/2016.  Her sire is 5L Independence 560-298Y and Dam is Foster’s Dory Jiba 03984. She was purchased by Christian Rich of Russell, Iowa.

The top selling bred heifer was Lot 17 CTRH Caribbean Queen 518C selling for $4600.  She was sold by Cowtraks Ranch, Samantha Frederick of Tipton, Iowa.  She was born 3/16/2015.  Her sire is PIE The Cowboy Kind 343 and Dam SLGN X-Tra Sweet 058X. She is AI bred to FTZ Ace’s Jackpot. She was purchased by Ryan Gorsch of Williamsburg, Iowa.

The next top selling bred heifer was Lot 37 Klein Lady J 323-542C selling for $4300.  She was sold by Klein Red Angus, Lee Klein of Scotia, Nebraska.  She was born 2/10/2015.  Her sire is HXC Conquest 4405P and Dam Klein Lady J 323A. She is AI bred to 3J One of a Kind A228. She was purchased by Olsen Red Angus, Gary Olsen of Brayton, Iowa.

The next top selling bred heifer was Lot 31 TJC 7080 Blayze 469B selling for $4100.  She was sold by Tim Johnson Cattle Company, Tim Johnson of Bellevue, Iowa.  She was born 9/22/2014.  Her sire is TJC Mulberry 014X and Dam SRN Tidy Beee 7080. She is bred to TJC Robin’s Captain 533C. She was purchased by Olsen Red Angus, Gary Olsen of Brayton, Iowa.

The top selling bred cow was Lot 47 Capstone’s Pride 85U selling for $3300.  She was sold by Campbell Creek Red Angus, James and Linda Campbell of Dunnegan, Missouri.  She was born 2/18/2008.  Her sire is MLK CRK Capstone 901 and Dam Power Play 51R. She is bred to Mulberry 26P 148A. She was purchased by Steve Lane of Amsterdam, Missouri.

The top selling cow calf pair was Lot 61 Wyatt’s Padyma 103A selling for $3400.  She was sold by Wright Farms, Bruce & Shannon Wright, Wyatt Walden of New London, Iowa.  She was born 3/20/2013.  Her sire is LJC Mission Statement P27 and Dam SLGN Wrigley 926W. Her bull calf at her side was sired by Loosli Camelot 2116. She was purchased by Joshua Wollf of Applington, Iowa.

The top selling embryo lot was Lot 65B Red SSS Soldier 365W, Foster’s Abgail 0537 selling for $1800 for three.  They were sold by Shepard Settlement Farms, Mike Foster of Marcellus, New York.  They were purchased by Turtle River Cattle Company, Ron Clementson of Grand Forks, North Dakota

The top selling semen lot was Lot 67 A-1 Andiamo 9A selling for $750 for pa package of 10.  They were sold by Campbell Creek Red Angus, James and Linda Campbell of Dunnegan, Missouri.  They were purchased by Wild to Mild Stables AJ Karsky of Cold Spring, Minnesota .

High volume buyer was Cathy Schaus with the purchase of 8 lots. Cattle were sold into 6 states including Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York.
